Parad Shivling is made of pure solidified mercury (Parad) with 8 Sanskars (8 stage of Purification done as per Parad Sanmhita). Worship this Parad Shivling helps long life, good health and wealth. Ravana has also been considered as Ras Sidha Yogi and by worshiping this Shivalinga he converted his Lanka into gold. Shiva's statement in Shivpuran is that the fruits which are received by the worship of millions of Shivlinga are also received from the worship and its philosophy of Parad Shivling. The heinous crime such as cow slaughter is removed from the mere sight of Parad Shivaling. Salvation is attained only by its touch.

It is said that Parad is the most beloved of Lord Shiva. According to the scriptures, the Shivling of Parad is considered as the self-sacrificing symbol of Shiva. Where Shiva is worshiped, Lord Mahadev lives in the same place. The fruit of the worship of Parad Shivaling is considered equal to hundred ashmegag yagna.
